Happy Mother's Day from Spain

The only thing better than a baptism is a phone call on Mother's Day.  So to all our mom's out there, Happy Mother's Day.  We will share with you our baptisms and joyous happenings in the mission.  Elder Bennett and Elder Jackson enjoyed their baptism in Cordoba.
Murcia is brimming with happiness and joy at their recent baptism.  Hermanas Nelson and Ross are sharing the gospel with everyone.
Elder Long and Elder Mora are delighted along with Bishop Cano at the latest baptism in Malaga.
The Traveling Trainers are seeing many miracles as they travel around the mission.  While they were in Cartagena with Elder Dangerfield and Elder Nalley they found this wonderful woman who was waiting to be baptized.  Life is great in the Spain Malaga Mission.
Puertollano is such a wonderful little city with a wonderful little branch.  Elder Meneses and Elder Barney are doing their part to baptize there.  Way to go Elders!!
Elder Hooper and Elder Shrewsbury are so happy to see a new member in Alicante.

Here are many of the members of Puertollano, celebrating the newest member of their branch.
The Ayudantes went to Malaga to work with the Zone Leaders and the District Leader in Malaga.  L. to R. Elders Long, Mora, Alejandre, Manning, Peterson, and Thomas.  All great Elders who understand their purpose and work to bring about the salvation of many souls.
Presidente Clegg heard a knock at his office door.  He said, "Come in."  And to his surprise and delight he found....
All the Zone Leaders had arrived at the mission home and were hungry and ready to eat before Zone Council began.
After getting the room ready, they took a minute to chat with each other and to find out what is happening around the mission.
Elder Rodriguez is one of our newest Zone Leaders who was getting a few tips from Elder Alejandre on what to expect.
After helping Hermana Clegg prepare the food, the Elders were waiting for the Presidente to do one thing.
That's right, cook the hamburgers with Elder Blanch's help.  After a great dinner we went to work, sharing, planning and learning how we can do better as missionaries and help every missionary to understand his or her purpose and feel the hand of the Lord in their lives.
A great looking bunch of Elders, but more important, a devoted, hard working group of missionaries that are passionate about serving the Lord.  They are some of the many reasons we are seeing such success.
A lighthouse to the world, the entrance to pass through the Straits of Gibraltar.
Just turn around and see this great view of the "Rock" with a Mosque in front of it.
A beautiful view of the city of Alerciras with the many ships coming into the port.
And of course, you got to love the monkeys.  Actually, they are apes because they don't have tails.  They were brought to the "Rock" back in the 1300's and are now protected and run wild on the here.
We were visited by great friends from the States.  On the left, Pat and Scott Sorensen who served with Presidente Clegg as young missionaries in Bolivia  along with his brother Dan and Jana Sorensen who served his mission in Madrid and was a companion to Presidente Blanco, president of the Sevilla Stake.
Presidente and Dan are demonstrating the way many men in Spain have conversations.  Do you think they got it right?
We also visited the Alhambra.  Such a beautiful place to visit.
The gardens and fountains are beautiful.
We traveled to Caceres where we attended a branch activity for mothers.  So to all those super moms out there, Happy Mother's Day.  The former Hermana Ramirez now lives in Caceres where she claimed me as one of her moms.  I'll claim her any day.

One of the members brought her friend who played the accordion for us while some of the young women danced.
Three cute members dancing for their mothers.  It was a sweet activity.
And our dear Elders Barbosa and McGarry are sweet to call me their super mom in Spain.  To all our Elders and Hermanas, we love you and hope either this week or last week you have had great calls with your families.  And to your parents, we just want to tell you we love your sons and daughters and are doing our best to look after them with love.  They are easy to love.  Now, Hermana Clegg is a mom  but I am also a Grandmother.  So I thought I would end the blog with the 3 newest grand babies.

Brooklyn Suzanne Clegg, born March 30th to our youngest son and daughter-in-law.
Chloe Clegg born March 8th to our oldest son and daugther-in-law.
And our newest grandson, John Anders Ashton, born just 3 days ago to our second oldest daughter and son-in law.  We are so blessed and so grateful for 3 healthy babies.
Our oldest granddaughter Ellie, showing off the quilt she made for her newest little brother Johnny.  She has made one for each of her 4 brothers and sisters.  She is amazing.  She starts young women this fall and she can't wait.
